Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP is an enemy of democracy.
He said this in a statement sent to the media on Tuesday.
Obaidul Quader said that BNP’s policies, ideals and practices are against democratic values. BNP’s position on the stage of politics is at the opposite pole of democracy. They are an enemy of democracy in this country and an internationally identified terrorist group.
He said that the BNP, founded by a military dictatorship, has a democratic spirit on its surface, but harbors an undemocratic spirit inside. So they have no respect for constitutional and systematic procedures. BNP, the master of undemocratic power, is always in conspiracy to destroy the democratic and stable environment.
General Secretary of Awami League said that by not participating in the elections, they created terror and anarchy to disrupt the elections. BNP tries to cover up their nuclear terrorism through political programs. But today their form is recognized by the nation and in the international arena. BNP has been declared a terrorist organization by the Federal Court of Canada.
He said that by adopting wrong policies and wrong programs continuously, BNP is drowning in the sand of mistakes. They fall deeper by taking their instinctive steps to get out of here. BNP’s politics is in dire straits. Their leaders and activists are depressed due to wrong politics.
Obaidul Quader said that the misguided leaders and activists of the failed BNP are trying to sow seeds of despair among the people. There is no dream ahead of them. So BNP leaders do not see anything positive. Rather, they always engage in conspiracies to harm the country and people through negative politics. Such activities of theirs are against the interest of the country and the people.
He said that Awami League leaders and activists under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina are working tirelessly to protect the freedom, sovereignty and democracy of this country. We will take Bangladesh forward against all odds . Future Bangladesh will be developed, prosperous and safe smart Bangladesh .
