What Pinak Chakraborty said on Peter Haas’s ‘Ga Dhaka’ issue

Ahead of the January 7 national elections, the diplomatic spat is getting increasingly complicated around a claim that ‘India’s tough stance practically forced the cover-up of US Ambassador Peter Haas in Dhaka’.

After Pinak Ranjan Chakraborty, the former Indian High Commissioner appointed in Dhaka, made this claim at an event in Delhi a few days ago, the US administration directly rejected this statement on Monday (April 8).

US State Department (State Department) spokesman Matthew Miller said in response to a question at their regular weekly briefing on Monday, “This statement is not correct.”

Even after the Biden administration directly rejected this statement, Pinakaranjan Chakraborty, however, is not backing down from his claim at all.
